pH/Chlorine Photometers
The EZ photometric instrument is a battery operated unit offering high accuracy measurement of Chlorine, pH and Bromine or Cyanuric Acid. It uses the standard DPD 1 or DPD 3 method for Chlorine and pHENOL RED for pH. The measured value is displayed on an easy to read LCD. The instrument is totally waterproof and is supplied in a carrying case with all reagents.
Measuring Ranges:
Chlorine, Free 0 - 6 mg/l
pH 5.9 - 8.2 pH
Cyanuric Acid 5 - 90 mg/l
Instead of tablets the EZ uses the EXact reagent strips which are supplied in bottles of 50 strips for the above tests. Other versions of the EZ are available for the measurement of other parameters, e.g. Bromine, Chlorine Dioxide
Colour Comparators
Less accurate but inexpensive method of measuring Chlorine and pH is an optical colour comparator where stable coloured solutions are created by the addition of reagent tablets and compared against known standards. Test Strips
An inexpensive method of testing for a wide range of chemical parameters is by using dip strips. The chemically impregnated tip of the measuring strip is dipped into the test solution for a few seconds and on removal produces a colour which is compared against a colour chart to determine intensity levels.
